Ensuring your workplace has good air quality is essential for the health of your employees to prevent health issues such as drowsiness, and headaches. Good air quality has been proved to boost motivation and prevent common illnesses from being spread. Taking action and implementing measures can help maintain a safe and comfortable space for your employees to work in as environmental awareness grows.

Installing a CO2 Monitor

Before taking action, its important to find out your current air quality status by installing a CO2 Monitor. A CO2 monitor is designed to provide CO2 and temperature tracking by using state of the art infra-red technology to accurately measure CO2 levels by detecting molecules in ther air and is often measured in Particles Per Million (PPM). High levels of CO2 indicate poor air quality and can be caused from increased levels of mold, mildew, bacteria, particule matter and viruses floating in the air or either carried by water droplets in the air. Levels above 1000PPM are considered inadequate and measures should be taken to improve.

The Hispec CO2 Monitor is the ideal choice for monitoring CO2 levels and the temperature of an indoor environment and features amber, red and green warnings to provide insight if measures need to be taken.

Ventilation

Review and maintain your vents regulalrly by cleaning dust or potential blockages so that air can circulate more freely. In warmer months when bacteria can breed fast, consider keeping the windows open or doors open when nessecary to help air flow.

Cleanliness

In busy workplaces where cleanliness may not be often up-kept due to busy schedules, dust and particles can often accumulate on surfaces and textiles. Which can cause allergens, illnesses and block air ducts etc. It is important to regularly clean such as sanitising surfaces, hoovering, and washing textiles to get rid of trapped bacteria and dirt.

Chemical Use

Refrain from using chemicals that can impact indoor air quality and ensure that doors and windows are open especially when using strong chemicals to prevent fumes. Natural cleaning products are a better alternative for a healtheir environment.

Even if your air quality is adequate it is reccomended that you still ventilate and try your best to implement the above tips to enhance the air quality for your employees and workspace.
